WorkSource of the South Plains and Lubbock EDA commissioned Texas Tech University to conduct three surveys to give current and prospective employers a complete picture of our local labor market.  Please click on the following links to access these surveys:

Job Location Preference Survey – The 2006 Job Location Preference Survey was conducted to reveal opinions about the type of community that college students and career professionals prefer.  Those surveyed were also questioned about, if given a choice, to what extent they would prefer to stay in Lubbock. The study was based on a survey of 1,348 Texas Tech students and alumni from two major colleges, the College of Business and the College of Engineering, which represent large populations of undergraduate and graduate students.

Underemployment Survey – The 2005 survey was conducted to estimate the level of underemployment and describe salient characteristics of that population.  It contains responses from 832 persons living in the following counties: Crosby, Dawson, Floyd, Garza, Hale, Hockley, Lamb, Lubbock, Lynn, and Terry. The report includes results about the underemployed workforce, latent workforce, and employed workforce.

Regional Labor Market Survey – The 2004 Regional Labor Market Survey was conducted to provide employers and local residents with up-to-date labor market information covering a 90-mile radius of Lubbock, which includes 29 counties.
