Byron Martin Advanced Technology Center At the ATC, students have access to a multimedia distance education classroom with a satellite down link capabilities, a multimedia tiered conference room, and multimedia instructional support library with access to on-line services. The college offers college level technical education. In addition to the high technology aspects of this center, it also meets the area’s need for customized, rapid response skills training for present or potential employers in West Texas. The ATC is a result of the cooperative efforts of the Lubbock Independent School District, the community of Lubbock through the Lubbock EDA, and a partnership with South Plains Tech Prep Consortium and Economic Development Administrations. South Plains College The college provides course offerings in allied health, business vocations and industrial technology. Courses in general studies and basic skill course offerings provide a balanced curriculum. Adult and continuing education programs are available to satisfy the needs of local residents. Specialized training programs are created in cooperation with industry as needs arise in Lubbock and the South Plains area. |
