Although we cannot possibly list everything there is to do on any given day, here is a highlight of events that are typical of our richest traditions. First Friday Art Trail Showcases fabulous works of art, much of which is created in the unique and inspiring galleries, studios, businesses and restaurant in downtown Lubbock and throughout the city. Catch a trolley at many of the locations or pick-up a First Friday Art Trail map at any of the venues to see the art that can be found each night during this event. Lubbock Symphony Orchestra's America Series Join the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra for the concert series concluding with "America Sings" in May. The classical concert features stars of Texas Tech University and excerpts from famous operas including "Candide", "Carmen", "Sweeney Todd", "Tosca", and "La Traviata." Ballet Lubbock Experience the beauty and grace of the full production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream performed in April at the Underwood Center's Firehouse theatre. Music Education and Guitar and Drum Lessons currently offered at the Buddy Holly Center April through July join veteran instructors for beginner and intermediate guitar and drum lessons -- offered to ages 10 and up. During the guitar sessions, entitled "Six Strings Attached," participants are given the opportunity to play an original hand crafted guitar by Buddy Holly's brother, Travis Holley.
