Secondary Education at its Best

The Lubbock Independent School District (LISD) educates 30,000 students each year, and is one of Lubbock’s best assets.  More than 70% of LISD graduates pursue education beyond their high school degrees.

LISD has 11 middle schools, including the new School for Young Women Leaders (YWL), YWL was opened in 2008 to empower young women leaders through rigorous college preparatory experiences, health awareness, commitment to service, and personal accountability for lifelong success.

Lubbock is also home to four high schools: Coronado, Estacado, Lubbock High, and Monterey High School. Each school brings a demanding ciriculum to the table in order to help students achieve their academic goals.
