Lubbock is nationally recognized as the home of the Texas Tech University System - an economic resource for research and academic excellence, and a focal point of community pride and exuberance.

The Texas Tech System includes Texas Tech University and the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, plus dozens of research centers and institutes.  30,400 students are enrolled in the Texas Tech System.

Texas Tech is highly involved in the economic development of Lubbock.  Administrators and faculty work hand-in-hand with the Lubbock EDA to meet the needs of business.  Because of Texas Tech, we are able to offer companies rich research and workforce resources, some of which are not available any other place in the country.
