Why can I only find certain information for Lubbock MSA and not the City of Lubbock?
There are several reasons for this.  First, since the City of Lubbock is a medium sized city a number of statistical data are only available for large cities and MSA’s for smaller cities.  Second, because of privacy issues various information is available only at MSA levels in order to protect those who the data is addressing (i.e. wage information, employment size).  Finally, due to the large number of municipalities in the United States those providing statistical information may choose to use MSAs as to reduce the amount of data that needs to be presented.  While this is not an issue in the Lubbock area, because of its lack of suburbs, many areas (i.e. Dallas Metroplex, Chicago) have numerous municipalities that would require separate data presentation.
