Workforce Development
Lubbock Economic Development Alliance has taken a proactive approach in addressing workforce needs for business and industry. By collaborating with local and regional partners, providing network and support groups for industry clusters, and supporting workforce development projects, LEDA’s Workforce Development Department aims to support the South Plains region’s dedicated and knowledgeable workforce teams.
Several innovative workforce and education programs have evolved, and Lubbock has continued to excel in this area. LEDA has been the proud recipient of many past recognitions, such as the: State of Texas Workforce Best Practices Award (2002: Honorable Mention, 2003: 1st Place, 2006: Merit Recognition), Career and Technology Association of Texas Award (2008), Texas Economic Development Council Outstanding Achievement in Community Economic Development (2009: Merit Recognition), and recognized by South Plains College as a Partner in Nursing Excellence (2009).
